  1. That’s a really great question to ask! We have a similar story, I was also raised in the Catholic church, but it was in a different denomination that I encountered God and became a real Christian. I love your answers. For me, I believe in God because He chose me, because I have encountered Him, felt His undying love for me, and saw His grace in my life. Although if a non-believer asked, I would also add some facts that prove His existence.

    1. Hi Carey. I love how you simplified your belief because “He chose” you. That is beautiful It’s a great reminder that He chose us because He loves us–period. Facts are good to share. I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to work so that non-believers may see. Thank you for sharing and I am blessed that I have gotten to know you more.

  2. Thank you for sharing a little bit of your journey and challenging us to think about this question of why we believe in God. It’s good to really stop and reflect and think about these things sometimes instead of avoiding or passing over them quickly. And I love how you point out that when we know the answers to these questions in our hearts, we’ll have more confidence when it comes time to share with others the hope we have!

    1. Hi Anna. I am so glad you stopped by and that this post allowed you pause with me. There is nothing better than spreading the Word of God and how God is love if others ask. We are His children who are ready and willing to help others to know Him.

  3. Our call as Christians is to share the gospel—ultimately the good news—of Jesus Christ! And in today’s age, that can be quite daunting. Many people believe faith is not only a personal thing, but there’s been a movement towards secularism like never before. If I were asked do I believe in God and why, my simple answer would be “Yes!”

For me, my coming to Christ has been a turning point in my faith, a departure from religious rituals and sacraments to a deeper love and relationship with God. That connection has been my comfort, my solace, and my blessing.

As for why I believe in Jesus…well, I believe in His holy Word as true and have experienced the freedom and comfort from God in my own life especially during those times of deep questioning, stress, suffering, and insecurity.

God is real to me. I feel His presence in my own life and all around me. Like your post, God is love. And that love was purely evident in the sacrifice Jesus made for me on the cross for my salvation. It’s a gift I could never earn on my own, but I’m ever so grateful for.

Thank you for sharing your testimony of faith and encouraging others to reflect on their spiritual faith and walk with the God!

    1. Amen. I couldn’t agree with you more. God wants to have a relationship with us. He is no longer interested in the man made rules. He loves us so much that He sent Jesus to us to die for our sins so that we can go directly to God at anytime to talk to Him. I am truly blessed that we walk alongside each other in this spiritual journey to know Christ.
      With love,
      Justine
